ALUMNI RELATIONS
What we do
The American University of Rome’s Alumni Relations Team is part of the Advancement Office. Its goal is to strengthen the worldwide community of AUR alumni through increased opportunities for meaningful engagement, both online and offline. AUR is not only an academic institution; it is also a place where many find lifelong friends and share life-changing experiences.
The Alumni Relations Team aims to act as a liaison for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, opportunities, and memories between AUR alumni and the entire AUR community. We believe that our community is our greatest asset, and we want our alumni to feel as much a part of it as they did when they studied in Rome.
The American University of Rome’s Alumni Relations Team:
-
Creates connections and builds networks between people who share AUR experiences;
-
Keeps Alumni informed about programs and activities of the University;
-
Organizes events around the world aimed at strengthening the bonds between Alumni and AUR;
-
Showcases stories of personal and professional success of Alumni.

Anne Marie Judge
Senior Director of Advancement
Ms. Judge joined the institution directly from Franklin University Switzerland (FUS), where she served as Vice President of Advancement and Special Advisor to the President. An exceptional institutional leader, Ms. Judge led the FUS Development team to become a driving force within the institution. Her tenure was marked by significant successes, including exceeding a $10M campus campaign goal, securing the most significant individual donation in school history, and cultivating a seven-figure gift to support the school’s first-ever endowed professorship.
Prior to her role with FUS, Anne Marie served as Assistant Dean for Institutional Advancement and Director of Annual Giving at Albany Law School in New York and as Director of Development for the Albany Symphony Orchestra.
Anne-Marie is a native English speaker and proficient in Italian.

As Assistant Director of Advancement, Federica supports AUR's overall advancement efforts and is the point person for the Rome campus. Collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Advancement, she contributes to planning and executing fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, and alumni relations. Federica actively participates in developing and implementing fundraising campaigns, cultivating donor relationships, and identifying partnership opportunities.

Kathleen Fitzsimmons
Alumni Liaison
Professor Kathleen Fitzsimmons retired from the classroom in 2022 after 25 years at AUR. One of AUR’s best-loved and most active professors, Professor Fitzsimmons, positively impacted hundreds of young lives over the course of her time with AUR – many of those students continue to hold her as a friend and mentor long after graduation.
Professor Fitzsimmons was the head of AUR's Business Program since its creation in 2003 when she also launched the AUR Business Club. Happily, she continues to be involved with AUR and has taken on the part-time role of Alumni Liaison, capitalizing on her ongoing contacts with so many Alums.
In her role, Kathleen manages the Alumni social media pages, organizes the Distinguished Alumni Lecture series each semester, and supports the efforts of the Advancement team in organizing events, including the upcoming 55th Anniversary Reunion in 2024.
